I am big into health and fitness, I love weight lifting and share an oft sporadic love/hate relationship with running.
I am not your average girly girl, I hate pink and frilly, I prefer climbing trees and getting my hands dirty. Don't expect me to fret about a broken nail. And please don't tell me I'm gonna bust my womb cause I choose to carry a printer up 4 flights of stairs instead of taking the elevator.
I like rock, progressive rock, old school English heavy metal (Up the Irons!) and old school English doom metal. I am a child of the 80's and it shows.. Thanks to my parents for the love of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Dire Straits, and Queen amongst others. My husband will probably never completely forgive you :)
I love to read; fantasy, sci-fi and horror are my main staples.
My parents are total opposites, one is a carbon footprint minding, tree hugging, fell walking hippy who brings out the giggly female in me and the other is an aristocratic, food and wine snob who prefers the finer things in life along with a healthy fascination for Monty Python and Douglas Adams that has defined much of my life. I take after them both and love the well rounded outlook on life they have instilled in me. They are my best friends.
I found my love, my life, my world in my husband. I lost him once, I was lucky enough to learn what he meant to me then and win him back I have never forgotten that and I will never take him for granted.
*When the silence beckons,
And the day draws to a close,
When the light of your life...sighs
And love dies in your eyes,
Only then will I realise
What you mean to me.* - Inner Silence - Alternative 4, Anathema. 1994.
He is the ying to my yang, the young to my old (seriously he is 33 going on 13), just about every cliché under the sun. I don't care if it's sappy. He makes me happy and even on the days I would cheerfully throttle him, that is all that matters.
I am not religious in any shape or form, I used to be a pagan, I am a trained Reiki master healer. I kind of lost sight of any form of divine or mystical higher powers though. None of it makes sense to me in today's world any more. Please note the important emphasis there: To Me
I do not judge anyone for their beliefs, please do not judge me. I don't care if you believe in God, Allah or the tooth fairy, I will like you for who you are not who you believe in.
